She won several beauty pageants growing up, including Miss Mid-South Fair, Miss Shelby County, Miss Liberty Bowl and Miss Okra. She placed third in the Miss Tennessee pageant. In 1977, she landed routine appearances on "Hee Haw" for the next 15 years. She also acted on "Starsky and Hutch", "Fantasy Island" and "Beverly Hills, 90210". She became famous in the 1970s for her four-year relationship with Elvis Presley, which was described in the 1981 movie "Elvis and the Beauty Queen". Four years after their split, Thompson began dating Olympic gold medalist Bruce Jenner and they eventually married. Linda is the mother of Brody Jenner and Brandon Jenner. She and her third husband, composer David Foster, divorced in 2005 after nearly 15 years of marriage.
